By: E&P Staff Don Waterman has been named to the new position of vice president/operations for Ottaway Newspapers Inc. (ONI) in Campbell Hall, N.Y., beginning March 1. He has served as Ottaway's corporate circulation director since October 1999.
Waterman, 57, is a veteran circulation executive with Ottaway Newspapers Inc. In his new capacity, he will continue to aid the company in its research and analysis of opportunities to acquire newspapers and be instrumental in the selection and rollout of new circulation, advertising and customer relations management systems over the next three years.
In addition, Waterman will assume corporate oversight for two newspapers in upstate New York: the Press-Republican in Plattsburgh, and The Daily Star in Oneonta.
Ottaway Newspapers Inc. is the community newspaper subsidiary of Dow Jones & Company. In addition to the Cape Cod Times, Ottaway publishes 14 other daily newspapers, 18 weeklies and numerous specialty publications and web sites in nine states.
