Ottaway Newspapers Sign with CityXpress

By: E&P Staff CityXpress announced it has signed an agreement with Ottaway Newspapers, the community newspaper subsidiary of Dow Jones & Co., to provide online transaction capabilities.

CityXpress will provide the e-commerce functionality and back-end systems for 14 community newspapers' classified Web sites, in conjunction with Ottaway's existing classified partners PowerOne Media and FutureOfNews.

The first Ottaway newspapers to implement the capability will be the Times Herald-Record of Middletown, N.Y., the Traverse City (Mich.) Record-Eagle, and the Portsmouth (N.H.) Herald. The launch of these sites is scheduled for later this fall.
