By: E&P Staff GMA of Allentown, Pa., and its Swiss parent company, Muller Martini, recently landed several international sales, including inserters capable of handling Berliner-format jackets. The Berliner's dimensions make it suitable for layout and folding as a small version of a broadsheet.
Orders for SLS3000 inserters came from ABV Saarbr?cken, Germany (20:2); Belfast Telegraph (6:1) and Irish News (6:1), both in Belfast, Northern Ireland; APN Newspapers, Buderim, Australia (6:2); Die Beeld, Johannesburg, South Africa (four 8:2, three 4:2); Tipografica Yucateca, Merida, Mexico (6:2 and a CombiStack); Colasanto, Nevelles, Belgium (4:2); and El Progreso de Lugo, Spain (6:2).
In all, GMA said it plans to ship 25 international orders this year.
GMA/Muller Martini also made inroads with Berliner-style inserters, including two 18:1 SLS3000 systems for Opperman, Germany. These add to the company's existing Berliner-style inserters, including units at Quebecor World in Tennessee, and Germany's Weiss Druck, in Monschau, and Von Stern'sche Druckerei, in Luneburg.
