Longtime Dallas Morning News editor Pam Maples will be joining the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as the new managing editor in the middle of next month, the paper has announced.
A native of Springfield, Mo., Maples had been the Morning News' assistant managing editor for projects and investigations since 2000. She had previously served as the paper's national editor and deputy national editor, and was part of a reporting team in 1994 that won a Pulitzer Prize for international reporting.
Before joining the Morning News, Maples had worked at the Rocky Mountain News of Denver, Colo., the Albuquerque Tribune and the Springfield (Mo.) Daily News.
The paper also announced that Steve Parker, assistant managing editor for news, had been promoted to deputy managing editor.
