By: Lucia Moses Expanding its California footprint, the News Media Corp. of Rochelle, Ill., purchased the paid weekly Paso Robles Press from the Richard D. Reddick family, as well as the free weekly Paso Robles Gazette, the monthly San Luis Obispo Magazine, and a printing plant in Atascadero from David B. Weyrich.

Terms of the transactions concluded Oct. 1 were not disclosed.

In California, the News Media Corp. also publishes the Register-Pajaronian, a 7,401-circulation daily in Watsonville, and weekly newspapers in Greenfield, Gonzales, King City, and Soledad. In addition, the company owns four daily and 40 nondaily newspapers in eight other states.

Gregg K. Knowles, a Bakersfield, Calif.-based broker affiliated with Mel Hodell, Media Broker Inc. represented the Reddick family in the Press transaction, and the News Media Corp. in the Gazette and magazine transactions.
