Paper Seeks Columns and Cartoons by Readers

By: E&P Staff The Huntsville (Ala.) Times is once again looking for columnists and editorial cartoonists from the community it serves.

In a note on the newspaper's Web site, Times Editorial Page Editor John Ehinger said five columnists and five cartoonists will be chosen after the entry deadline of Oct. 31.

Each columnist and cartoonist will be published once a month on the Times' Sunday commentary page. Cartoons need to be on local or state topics, and columns on personal, local, or state topics.

"We hope to get people with perspectives different from those of journalists," said Ehinger.

The cartoon part of the annual contest was mentioned Tuesday on EditorialCartoonists.com.
