New York, December 15, 2011—On January 1, 2012, all 12 Morris Communications Co. newspapers, including The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville and The Augusta (GA) Chronicle, and nine Journal Register Co. (JRC) newspapers, including the Daily Local News in West Chester, PA, and The News Herald in Lake County, OH, will begin carrying PARADE—the most widely read magazine in the U.S.— increasing its total circulation from 32.4 million to 33 million in more than 640 newspapers across the country.
Over the course of this year, PARADE has added 111 newspapers with 1.3 million in combined circulation to its network; 84 of these newspapers switched to PARADE from USA Weekend.
“Being able to expand our readership in these fine newspapers is incredibly important,” says Jack Haire, President and CEO of PARADE Publications. “Our newspaper network allows us a unique and deep community connection that sets us apart from other magazines.”
William S. Morris IV says, “PARADE has been a familiar and trustworthy part of major Sunday newspapers across the country for many years. After an absence of several years, we’re pleased to once again deliver the magazine America prefers to all of our subscribers as part of their weekend package.”
Bill Higginson, EVP Operations, digitalfirstMEDIA, (and Journal Register Company), adds, “PARADE provides quality digital and print content to our newspapers, and that is important. The combination provides a good reason for our readers to spend more time with us, not only on Sunday, but every day. We’re also excited by the prospect of increased digital advertising revenue that the Parade Digital Partners network provides.”
PARADE’s broad coverage of entertainment, health, politics and inspirational features has made it an American favorite for more than 70 years.
