'Parade' Food Editor Lukins Dies at 66

By: E&P Staff Parade magazine food editor, store owner and cookbook author Sheila Lukins died Sunday at age 66.

The Associated Press reports that Lukins died at her Manhattan home, three months after being disgnosed with brain cancer.

Philadelphia-born Lukins, who graduated from New York University with a degree in art education, studied at the Cordon Bleu in London and worked with chefs in France before returning to New York to start a catering business and opening a shop.

The author of several cookbooks that sold millions of copies, Lukins was inducted into the James Beard Foundation's Who's Who of Food and Beverage in America in 1992.
