PARADE Publications Announces New Senior VP/Midwest Advertising Director

Stephen Buerger has been appointed senior vice president/Midwest advertising director at Parade Publications, announced Parade Group Publisher Brett Wilson. Buerger is based in the company's Chicago office and is responsible for leading Midwest sales efforts across all PARADE brands, including PARADE magazine, dash and PARADE Digital.

"Steve's leadership skills and varied experience in sales and marketing will prove immensely valuable in the marketplace as we continue to build our brands," says Wilson. "We know he'll help grow our business across key categories, in print and digitally. He's a terrific addition to a terrific team."

Prior to joining PARADE, Buerger was President and COO of Eco Media, a unique business that allowed advertisers to engage consumers by solving environmental problems in their communities. The company was purchased by CBS in the summer of 2010. Before that, he was President & Chief Strategy Officer at Starcom USA, where he oversaw operations for the largest media agency in the Publicus Agency network.

Buerger spent three years at Time Warner in New York, first as Group Vice President of Marketing and New Business Development for Time Inc., then as Senior Vice President of Client Solutions for AOL. Prior to moving to New York Steve spent 9 years at SAB/Miller as Group Director of Marketing Services where he was responsible for Media Services, Sports ,Event & Entertainment Marketing and Global Package design. He Started his career in the Agency business in Chicago with J Walter Thompson.

Buerger's been recognized with numerous honors and industry awards over the years. He was named to Advertising Age's "Media Mavens" and "Top 50 Marketing Leaders" lists, as well as one of Sports Business Journal's "Most Influential People in Sports Advertising."
