The Herald in Rock Hill, S.C., and past president of the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association (SNPA), died Thursday, according to the
Herald. He was 66.
Patrick was publisher of the
Herald from 1970 to 1993.
"Wayne Patrick was one of the elegant leaders of the newspaper industry," said Burl Osborne, publisher emeritus of
The Dallas Morning News, and president of SNPA. "While he was always attentive to business, he was concerned about the people around him, and he appreciated deeply the need for constantly improving the quality of the news that is delivered to readers each day."
