By: E&P Staff Citing figures from the Massachusetts Department of Labor, the Boston Globe reported over the weekend that The Patriot Ledger, in Quincy, had cut 130 jobs last month after moving printing to the Globe.

Patiot Ledger owner GateHouse Media Inc. earlier announced the agreement with The Globe, which also prints The Enterpise, GateHouse's daily in Brockton (E&P Online, July 31).

When printing in Quincy ended, 21 full-time employees and 109 part-time workers, mostly in the mailroom, lost their jobs. Almost half the pressroom staffers are still looking for work, according to the Pressmen's Union, which negotiated their severance pay.
