By: Pauline Millard It's Monday, and as we all trudge back into the office, perhaps it's a good time to remember that the work week need not be all business, all the time. The daily commute can have an artistic flavor to it, if you know how to look at it.
Today I found this arty piece on The New York Times Web site that was created by the artist Jeff Scher. It's an
interpretation of rush hour at Grand Central Station, and part of a larger series called "Sightlines." The original music is by Shay Lynch.
I choose The New York Times a lot as a Pick only because they have a large multimedia department and they put out a lot of projects. I particuraly like this piece for its creatvie use of video and for the music, which has a dramtic and dark feel to it, like something out of an old cartoon.
On a side note, if you will be at the Online Journalism Association conference this week in Toronto, be sure to track me down. While you're at it, feel free to plug any projects your paper is working on.
