PAULINE'S PICKS: 'The Atlanta Journal-Constitution' Uses Web for Extensive Photo Galleries

By: Pauline Millard It's no secret that I'm a big fan photo galleries. I think if the Web has offered newspapers a great innovation, it's the ability to show off more photos than a print version can. Readers also love photos, and sometimes images are the best way to tell a story, even with plenty of skilled writers on hand.

Today I came across the extensive photo galleries of the Atlanta Journal-Consitution. Atlanta's a big place, but the newspaper seems to have their photographers out and about, covering everything from Big Boi's latest movie premiere to a camp where young girls can learn about construction.

They even found a way to monetize it, by allowing a print-on-demand photo Web site to advertise within the galleries.
