Paying people to be more mindful of the truth is not a sure bet to accuracy, study finds

People fall for easy falsehoods even when they’re told they’ll earn money for answering correctly, according to the results of a new study published in pre-print form (meaning the study has yet to be peer-reviewed).

The concept behind the finding is known as illusory truth, which is the idea that repeating false claims makes them more truthful.
