By: E&P Staff Publishing Business Systems of Barrington, Ill., supplier of integrated enterprise newspaper business software, reached agreement with iPIX Ad Technologies of San Ramon, Calif., allowing advertisers to place enhanced photos online through iPIX AdPlus Prism software, available directly from PBS.
The self-service online order-entry and ad-building system for print and online classifieds, enables advertisers to log on to a newspaper's Web site and point-and-click their way through placing, proofing, and paying for an ad. With iPIX integration, advertisers can upload, manipulate and improve the quality of photos used in ads.
PBS also announced that New Times Media of Phoenix licensed AdPlus. Because its 11 properties have had individual systems, consolidating their information has been largely a manual effort. New Times sought a vendor whose replacement system could also help regionalize selected operational areas for even greater efficiency.
New Times Media runs PBS applications for display and classified advertising, accounts receivable, customer relationship management, pagination, ad tracking, and online services. In the PBS integrated environment, all the applications are connected through a centralized customer database, giving all users access to the same information.
New Times said its selection will reduce systems support and maintenance costs and increase workflow efficiency, marketing opportunities, and new revenue gained through automated upselling.
Display advertisers will be able to proof ads online via integrated ad tracking that e-mails to an advertiser a Web link, unique user name and password that provide access to an ad. While online, advertisers may communicate changes through text or voice, recording comments using their PC's microphone.
