By: E&P Staff The Project for Excellence in Journalism has launched a new Web site "that offers users more resources than before as well as new ways of navigating through our data that makes what you are looking for easier to find," the group said in a statement. The address is the same, www.journalism.org.
"But conducting research is now much easier," the statement declared.
First, the site now features a separate section that isolates virtually every piece of data that PEJ has produced over the last 10 years and connects it to a powerful filter tool that allows users to sort by media sector, industry trend or topic in the news.
"Once users have found the data they want, they can play with it and then create their own charts or graphs using a special chart-making function. Included in this new archive is all the data from our annual reports on the state of the news media. The site allows users to similarly search all our reports by topic, industry sector and news event. The site will feature new material everyday, including regular updates of key industry data, and in a few months, a major new effort tracking the news agenda of a wide range of media."
