Pelosi to 'SF Chronicle' Edit Board: 'I agree' With McClellan's Charges, and Iraq War 'a Big Lie'

By: E&P Staff The San Francisco Chronicle's Carla Marinucci, on the paper's "Spin Cycle" blog, today recounts details of a wide-ranging editorial board with Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, during which the speaker offered her own views on the forthcoming book by former White House press secretary Scott McClellan.

Marinucci writes that while Pelosi hasn't yet read McClellan's tome, she told the Chronicle's edit board, ''I totally agree'' with his charges. "This is a person who was talking to the press, supplied with information that he trusted to be truthful.

''This war is a big lie. It was a lie to begin with ... and it continues to be a lie," Pelosi added.
