'Pensacola (Fla.) News Journal' Names New Exec. Editor

By: E&P Staff Richard A. Schneider has been named the new executive editor of the Pensacola (Fla.) News Journal.

Schneider, 50, has been executive editor of The Jackson (Tenn.) Sun for the past 14 years. Before that, he was managing editor of The Commercial News in Danville, Ill.

In his new capacity, Schneider will also serve as director of content and readership development. He begins his new job on Aug. 14.

Schneider succeeds Randy Hammer, who recently became vice president of non-daily publications, Internet efforts, and marketing development at The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky.
