Perry Named Publisher of the Quill

The Phillips Media Group has announced Jim Perry as the new publisher ofThe West Plains Daily Quill.

Perry comes to West Plains from Gainesville, Texas, where he ran The Daily Register for five years. He has nearly 40 years of experience publishing community newspapers. He has also previously worked with Phillips Media as publisher for papers in Eureka Springs and Berryville, Ark. He was publisher of the Hope Star daily in Hope, Ark., as well as a mid-sized daily in Leesburg, Fla.

"I'm very pleased to take the helm of The Quill," Perry said. "West Plains is a great community and I look forward to meeting our community leaders and subscribers. I plan to be very active in our community."

The Quill has served West Plains and the surrounding area for 112 years. Perry said The Quill will increase focus on local news, community events, local sports and school news.
