By: E&P Staff The Philadelphia Tribune, the nation's oldest and the Philadelphia region's largest newspaper serving the African-American community, reached an agreement in principle with Virtual Paper, a business of Montreal-based Tree Technologies, to provide an electronically transmitted digital replica edition of the Tribune by early next month.
"Offering an 'e-Edition' will allow The Philadelphia Tribune to make available the entire format and content of our Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday editions to our subscriber base and to other readers, including large regional and national audiences," Publisher Robert W. Bogle said in a statement. "It should significantly expand our ability to reach targeted readers with our unique content and our advertisers' messages."
The National Newspaper Publisher's Association, a trade association representing 205 African-American-owned newspapers, has recognized the Tribune as the "Best Newspaper in America" in six out of the last 11 years.
