By: E&P Staff The Philadelphia Inquirer is launching a 40-page tabloid section for Chester County, Pa., to run Thursdays and Sundays.
?These Chester County sections are part of a concentrated suburban strategy by the Inquirer to grow circulation in the suburbs,? said Brain Tierney, publisher of the Inquirer and Daily News, in a statement.
The section will cover high school sports, theater and bands, and will carry free classifieds and obituaries.
Philly.com will revamp its Chester County site with more content like sports scores, links to government sites, and traffic reports.
The first issue is running 25 advertising pages. The paper is launching a marketing campaign touting the new section with cable TV and radio spots, out-of-home, and print.
