By: Staff Reports Site Joins Philadelphia Inquirer, Quorum.org In Effort
The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philly.com and Quorum.org have joined forces to sponsor an online debate between candidates in Philadelphia-area races. The three organizations gathered questions from voters and then Quorum.org asked visitors which questions they would most like to see answered.
The top six questions were submitted to candidates in the following races: the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race between Rick Santorum and Ron Klink; the New Jersey U.S. Senate race between John Corzine and Bob Franks; the Pennsylvania U.S. House race between Stewart Greenleaf and Joseph Hoeffel; and the New Jersey U.S. House race between Susan Levin and Jim Saxton.
The special Campaign 2000 section also includes the Inquirer's daily coverage of the races, video excerpts of the candidates from FreedomChannel.com, campaign contributions from Opensecrets.org, and issue comparisons from DemocracyNet.
Philly.com is a member of KnightRidder.com's Real Cities network. Quorum.org was developed by the Democracy Project, a nonprofit working to build a citizen-driven public space on the Internet.
