By: E&P Staff A new book by Bill Geist, the former New York Times columnist who has been doing his witty reportage for TV for many years, profiles in one section "The Flying Paperboy" of Loyalton, Calif. He is Hal Wright, who even at the age of 92 was still "fit and frisky" and delivering papers in his remote area from the air.
The Times mentioned Wright in a review of Geist's book "Way Off the Road" on Sunday, and the paper presently carries an excerpt from the book about Wright on its Web site, all observing that as editor/publisher of the Sierra Booster he enjoyed piloting a plane and dropping papers to his subscribers, seemingly in the present tense.
There's just one problem: Wright died in 2000.
He had run the paper since 1949.
