Pioneer Newspapers Inc. Appoints New COO

By: E&P Staff Mark Cohen has been appointed chief operating officer for Pioneer Newspapers Inc. Cohen, who has over 25 years of experience in newspapers, most recently was vice president of advertising for Gatehouse Media in New England.

A Northern Kentucky University alumnus, Cohen previously served as director of sales and marketing for Morris Newspapers, and was a vice president at Community Newspaper Holdings Inc.

Cohen succeeds Mike Gugliotto, who was named president and CEO of Pioneer newspapers in January.

Pioneer Newspapers is a family-owned media company based out of Seattle that boasts more than 20 small to medium-sized community newspapers in Washington, Utah, Oregon, Montana and Idaho.
