Digital Technology International, Springville, Utah, has announced implementation of DTI Circulation at MediaNews Group's St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press, which will operate and support the new circulation software for MediaNews' eastern-region newspapers.

The subscriber-management solution will provide the Pioneer Press with functional and operational improvements over its current system.

"DTI Circulation is already running at several of our newspapers," said Andrew Mok, Pioneer Press circulation and technology vice president, said in a statement. "We needed a new system that would allow us to adjust as the market changes." According to Mok, the Pioneer Press has had nine consecutive ABC Publishers Statements "showing circulation copy growth," a trend it aims to continue.

The new system, to go live next April, cost-effectively improves all aspects of circulation and distribution, and will provide "flexible targeted marketing tools [that] help with pursuit of new lines of advertising business that will be critical to future MediaNews Group endeavors," said DTI Sales Vice President Dan Paulus.
