Pitts to Write Katrina Anniversary Columns from Gulf Coast

By: E&P Staff Leonard Pitts Jr. is doing a series of columns marking the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Last summer, Pitts wrote a number of pieces from the devastated Gulf Coast. To see what effect one year has had on the people there, he'll return for another series of columns. Pitts will write from New Orleans on the anniversary of the hurricane's landfall, and then head east toward Biloxi, Miss. He tentatively plans to write on Aug. 27, 28, and 29, though there might be additional columns.

Pitts' Miami Herald column, which won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for commentary, is syndicated by Tribune Media Services and McClatchy-Tribune News Service.
