By: E&P Staff Joseph Wilson, the husband of ex-CIA agent Valerie Plame, will lecture on ?Truth, War & the CIA? as the keynote speaker for the fourth annual Roger Tatarian Journalism Symposium at California State University, Fresno.
The three-hour symposium is free and open to the public. The event, sponsored by the university?s Department of Mass Communications and Journalism and the Roger Tatarian Endowment for Journalism, will be held 9 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Satellite Student Union.
Wilson, a former U.S. ambassador to Iraq, published an account of his wife?s outing as a CIA employee in his 2004 book "The Politics of Truth: Inside the Lies that Led to War and Betrayed my Wife's CIA Identity."
The symposium will include a panel discussion with two veteran reporters from The McClatchy Co.?s Washington Bureau, Warren Strobel and Jonathan Landay. They will discuss the challenges of investigative reporting during wartime, the school said.
