Possible TV Show Focuses on Cartooning

By: Dave Astor Oregon Public Television has expressed interest in producing a weekly TV show called "Party Toons" if underwriting can be secured, its creator told E&P at the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists convention here.

The creator is cartoonist Drew Chapman, an editorial cartoonist and caricaturist based in Virginia.

"Party Toons" would feature appearances by political cartoonists, animated versions of newspaper cartoons, and more. The pilot episode includes animations of cartoons by Steve Sack of the Minneapolis Star Tribune and Tribune Media Services and by Steve Breen of the San Diego Union-Tribune and Copley News Service.

The show's host is Will Durst, whose political humor column is syndicated by Cagle Cartoons.
