By: E&P Staff The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has acquired pittsburghmom.com, a site designed to help parents raising young children in Pittsburgh find local resources and information and connect with each other. The newly redesigned site will be integrated into the Post-Gazette's family of products, which includes the daily newspaper and post-gazette.com.
The site?s founder, Dr. Heather Starr Fiedler, will serve as general manager. "As a mother of two young children, I experienced the need for a Web site like pittsburghmom.com,? she said in a statement. ?My vision for the site is to build an online community where parents can find information about everything from family-friendly restaurants to the best place to get a child's haircut."
Pittsburghmom.com re-launched today with a new look as well as some added features. Visitors can continue to browse directories, post to message boards and read local parenting blogs, and the site now offers current news on parenting topics as well as a family events calendar.
