By: Mark Fitzgerald A power outage at a Jersey City, N.J., hosting
facility for Advance Publications Inc. has forced more
than 30 newspapers to display text-based sites with no
advertising.
A spokesperson for the utility PSEG said all three
circuits in the Journal Square area went out at 5:45
EDT Tuesday. PSEG hoped to have at least two of the
circuits back in operation by 8 p.m. EDT, spokesperson
Karen Johnson said Wednesday evening.
"The circuits are there to provide redundancy, and
unfortunately all three went out at the same time,"
Johnson said.

service. We are providing basic news updates until we
can fully restore the site," read a message at both
NJ.com and
Cleveland.com late Wednesday afternoon.
Other sites affected include Michigan Live, Oregon Live, and two online classified sites,
