The Press-Enterprise of Riverside, Calif., reported that its facilities services director, Steve Favero, was promoted to operations vice president, with responsibility for company facilities, telecommunications, production, transportation, purchasing and the company's SoCal Commercial Printing business.
The paper quoted its publisher and company CEO David Cornwall as saying in a statement that ""advertising and circulation volumes are at all-time highs, and we are on the verge of addressing major capital needs.""
Ed Lasak, in charge of finance and operations for five years, continues as finance vice president. ""The demands placed on our finance department, the necessity of sound controls and the complexity of our business have combined to cause a vital and pressing need for a dedicated department head,"" Cornwall said.
Favero joined The Press-Enterprise Co. in 2001 after two years as an independent contractor for aerospace parts manufacturing companies. He earlier was involved in plant engineering and maintenance.
