By: Dallas-based Belo announced Thursday that Marcia McQuern, publisher, editor, president, and CEO of
The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, Calif., will retire Oct. 1. She will continue to serve as a consultant to the newspaper.
McQuern, 59, has worked at the
Press-Enterprise for three decades, serving as executive editor, managing editor, and city editor. She became president in 1992, and publisher and editor two years later.
The Press-Enterprise operations include
La Prensa, a weekly Spanish paper;
The Business Press, a weekly; six weekly community papers; and SoCal Commercial Printing.
The
Press-Enterprise is one of four daily newspapers published by Belo, which also owns TV stations and cable and online media assets.
