By: E&P Staff Atex in Reading, England, has entered the Turkish news publishing market in supplying Istanbul-based Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik with the Atex Prestige content management system.

Supporting 350 journalists and production staffers, Prestige will be used to produce Hurriyet, the English-language Turkish Daily News and its other publications, including Reference and 20dk. Prestige already has been used since the start of last December for KEYiF supplements.

Selected to simplify planning, enhance workflow and track page production, Prestige also provides simple tools that allow controlled last-minute edits throughout a complex editions structure.

The system will fully support production of all the publications in a single environment. The installation includes the full Prestige communications package to handle all incoming wires for text and pictures and integration of ClassWizard pagination and planning with an existing advertising system.

How Dublin Inquirer uses legal risk assessments to keep accountability journalism moving

When Dublin Inquirer publishes a sensitive accountability story, the challenge isn’t just reporting the facts. It’s deciding whether a small, seven-person newsroom can afford the legal risks that sometimes come with telling the public what it needs to know. For editor and co-founder Sam Tranum and deputy editor Lois Kapila, those decisions once came down to late-night conversations and educated guesswork. Today, the independent Dublin newsroom relies on Reporters Shield’s Legal Risk Assessment service to help identify potential legal vulnerabilities before publication—allowing journalists to move forward with greater confidence while keeping important stories alive.
