What its Website described as a "breakdown" at its production plant prevented on-time morning deliveries of the Saturday Grand Forks (N.D.) Herald.
In the absence of the Publisher Mike Jacobs and Production Manager Kieth Haus, the cause of the problem could not be immediately ascertained.
A manager at the Forum Communications daily, which circulates approximately 27,000 copies in North Dakota and Minnesota, credited Information Systems Manager Mark Young with working "around the clock" to fix the problem and restore production.
Young was not immediately available for comment.
In the meantime, readers can check out Herald Food Editor Jeff Tiedeman's April review of jerky that Haus made from venison supplied by Young, as well as Tiedeman's own recipe, on his "One byte at a time" blog on the company's areavoices.
