Protecmedia Installs Large System for German Group

By: E&P Staff Publishing group Rhein Main (VRM) will be the first in Germany to install Milenium Cross Media, the multi-channel editorial system from Madrid-based Protecmedia, in January 2010.

Specifications are completed and version 6.5 implementation is under way to create a media-convergent environment for at least 400 editorial staffers. Implementation under Protecmedia will be performed in cooperation with Hamburg-based ProPublish, Protecmedia's implementation partner in Germany.

Among other titles, the system will serve Allgemeine Zeitung, Wiesbadener Kurier, Wiesbadener Tagblatt, Giessener Anzeiger and Oberhessische Zeitung. The Polopoly Web content-management system will be linked to Milenium Cross Media using a bidirectional interface to provide the content for the eight VRM Web sites.

The German regional publisher owns 22 dailies with a total circulation of 200,000, as well as numerous local and district newspapers and 11 weeklies with a total circulation of approximately 650,000 copies.

Protecmedia's other customers, in Spain, Portugal, Austria, France, Poland and South America, produce more than 300 newspapers and magazines using Milenium Cross Media.
