Publisher Departs 'Demopolis (Ala.) Times'

By: E&P Staff Publisher Sam R. Hall has resigned his positions as publisher of The Demopolis (Ala.) Times and vice president of Boone Publications Inc., also based in Alabama. He has led the paper since July 2006.

In addition, Hall resigns his role as publisher of Shoppers Guides for Clarke County, Greene County, Hale County, Wilcox County, and Marengo County, all in Alabama. He plans to move to Jackson, Miss. with his family.

The Times has yet to name a new publisher for the paper and the guides; Managing Editor Gennie Phillips will handle the responsibilities for all the publications in the interim.

Boone Publications Inc. is owned by Boone Newspapers Inc., also based in Alabama. The company also publishes papers in Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia.
