Pulitzer Winner Fiore's Rejected iPhone App Approved

By: E&P Staff As it turns out, winning a Pulitzer Prize does open some doors, after all.

Case in point: self-syndicated editorial cartoonist Mark Fiore, whose iPhone app was rejected because they ?ridicule public figures,? which goes against the App Store?s policy.

But Apple?s chief executive Steve Jobs now says his company made a mistake when it rejected the app, and it has now been made available on the App Store.

According to The New York Times, Jobs responded via e-mail personally to a customer, Robert Williamson, who asked Friday about the nixed app. ?This was a mistake that?s being fixed,? Jobs wrote.

?Looks like some guy named Steve Jobs was able to nudge my app past the gatekeepers,? Fiore told E&P in an e-mail Tuesday.
