By: E&P Staff John Pulliam has been named the new business editor at The Register-Mail of Galesburg, Ill., the paper recently announced. Pulliam will replace Mike Landis, who transferred to the Kewanee (Ill.) Star Courier to become a sports editor.
Pulliam has worked at The Register-Mail since 1992. He served as police and courts reporter for two years before becoming city editor in 1994. In 2003, Pulliam became a senior editor at the paper. Throughout his career at The Register-Mail, he has covered the affairs of the Galesburg City Council.
The latest promotion will mean that Pulliam will have to cease work on his South of I-80 column that he wrote for the paper. However, there is a possibility that Pulliam may start a business column in the near future.
Pulliam?s responsibilities as business editor will include the production and selection of content for the daily business pages, as well as the Sunday business section.
