By: E&P Staff Automated press control systems maker QuadTech Inc., Sussex, Wis., appointed Vince Balistrieri as its engineering director, with responsibility for the engineering division and oversight of research and development of auxiliary press and finishing equipment.
Balistrieri joined QuadTech from Johnson Controls, where he was engineering director for four years. He earlier held engineering positions with Rockwell International and Rockwell Automation, including development and management of software and firmware.
Announcing the appointment, QuadTech President Karl Fritchen cited Balistrieri's 20-plus years in the industry, specifically his "knowledge and expertise in developing and supporting controllers and software tools for automation systems."
Besides focusing on improving product speed, quality and cost-effectiveness, as engineering director, Balistrieri will align engineering initiatives with business needs, improve the engineering function to reduce cycle times and increase responsiveness.
