By: E&P Staff Four Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonists will be speaking Feb. 7 at a National Archives event in Washington, D.C.
They include Clay Bennett of the Chattanooga (Tenn.) Times Free Press and Washington Post Writers Group; Matt Davies of The Journal News in White Plains, N.Y., and Tribune Media Services; Pat Oliphant of Universal Press Syndicate; and Ann Telnaes of the Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate, which is marketed by the New York Times Syndicate.
The "Running for Office: Cartooning and Politics" discussion will be moderated by Stephen Hess, a George Washington University professor who co-authored "Drawn & Quartered: The History of American Political Cartoons."
On Feb. 8, the National Archives will start exhibiting the work of editorial cartoonist Clifford K. Berryman. The show -- which lasts until Aug. 17 -- features 42 original Berryman drawings that appeared on the front page of Washington newspapers from 1898 to 1948.
