Quartz has announced Bob Maund as their new VP of Partnerships, overseeing the Global Partnerships team, starting March 22, 2021. Maund joins Quartz from Bloomberg LP, where he led the Bloomberg Media Finance Vertical Sales team.

Reporting directly to Natalie Diamond, Chief Revenue Officer, Maund will be responsible for achieving the media company’s global revenue target and informing their go-to-market advertising strategy. Upon his start date, he’ll lead monetization efforts for several new off-platform opportunities, including Quartz’s expanding virtual events platform and a new audio product.

Prior to joining Quartz, Maund spearheaded Bloomberg’s Media Finance Vertical Sales team, representing the full range of Bloomberg Media products including digital, TV, print, radio, and event sponsorships, working closely with leading finance industry marketers across the U.S. to help them build brand and acquire customers. Before that, he led northwest region television and digital media sales for the NBC Universal (CNBC, MSNBC, Meet the Press and TODAY), working with a range of leading tech, financial and consumer advertisers to develop full funnel media programs across television, digital, branded content and event sponsorship. He was also part of the launch team for CNBC Digital.

“Bob is well known in the media industry for his successful partnerships, strongly built sales teams, and thoughtful large scale program creation, making him the perfect fit for our team,” said Natalie Diamond, Quartz Chief Revenue Officer. “His years of experience with our core client verticals and sharp eye for identifying new revenue opportunities will help propel the new journey that Quartz is embarking on this year, and we’re thrilled to have him join the team.”

Added Maund, “I’m excited to seize this opportunity to join a business news organization that’s already operating out of the box and has proven their dedication to serving customers and brand partners with creatively thought-out product innovations and options. I’m also happy to bring my experience cultivating and strengthening relationships and laser-focusing on quality to the team, as we launch several new and exciting projects in the coming months.”

Prior to joining NBC Universal, Maund held sales roles with INXPO, CNNMoney, and Fortune. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and is based in Texas.
