Quipp Posts Packaging Systems Sales

By: E&P Staff Two Packman multifunction packaging systems were among recent sales by Miami-based Quipp Systems.

The Leaf Chronicle, Gannett's 21,154-circlation daily in Clarksville, Tenn., bought floor equipment with its Packman. Gannett was the first to buy a Packman after testing the multifunction system at its Melbourne, Fla., plant last year. The other Packman went to The Monterey County (Calif.) Herald -- the first Knight-Rider newspaper to order a Packman.

(501W); The Morning Journal, Lorain, Ohio (501N); The Citizens' Voice, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (500W, in association with Newstec); Record Searchlight, Redding, Calif. (two 501Ns); Columbus (Ga.) Ledger-Enquirer (500W); The Hamilton (Ontario) Spectator (501N); Danville (Va.) Register & Bee (500W); Sarasota (Fla.) Herald-Tribune (two 501Ws); Sing Tao Daily, New York (500W, Viper three-quarter wrapper, Twin-Trak conveyors, floor equipment, truck loaders); Journal & Courier, Lafayette, Ind. (500W, two Vipers); Post Register, Idaho Falls, Idaho (500N); Courier News, Bridgewater, N.J. (500W); The Daily News Leader, Staunton, Va. (500W); American Color Graphics, Medina, Ohio (500W, in association with Newstec); The Express-Times, Easton, Pa. (501N); Los Angeles Daily News, Valencia, Calif. (two 501Ns).

The Hattiesburg (Miss.) American and the Herald and News in Klamath Falls, Ore., each ordered a Viper, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel bought floor equipment for its Deerfield Beach plant, and the Tri-City Herald in Kennewick, Wash., ordered truck loaders.
