By: E&P Staff The Blade, Toledo, Ohio, recently chose Quipp to provide press delivery conveyors and floor conveyors.
The project consists of two Quipp Twin-Trak belt conveying systems and several Matte-Top floor conveyors to deliver bundles to the dock.
Blade Assistant Production Manager Steve Banks is overseeing
Installation, which is scheduled to begin at the end of this month.
The Monitor, McAllen, Texas, which recently installed two Quipp Packman II systems, has purchased two Quipp NewsCom inserter control systems to install on its Muller Martini SLS-1000 and SLS-2000 inserters.
The decision was made after a demonstration given to Monitor operations and management teams. The two NewsCom systems will be installed early this year.
NewsCom (which also can control older Harris and Sheridan inserters) enables handling of challenging production runs, tracks and accounts for inserts, protects data with RAID disk drives, and includes a JobBuilder feature that automatically combines advertising and circulation information for faster set-up with fewer errors, according to Quipp.
The Monitor also bought Newsgroup, which will allow it to manage more than one NewsCom system from a central location.
