Randolph Leader Publisher John Stevenson Dies at 70


Randolph Leader editor John W. Stevenson, 70, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 14, at his Roanoke home surrounded by his loved ones and his pets after a year and half battle with cancer.

John was only the third editor of the newspaper, which was founded by his grandfather, Olin Hampton Stevenson, in 1892. He took the reins from his father, John B., in 1982.
