Reality-TV Deal for Scripps Howard Columnist Betsy Hart

By: E&P Staff Scripps Howard News Service (SHNS) columnist Betsy Hart has landed a production deal for a reality-TV series titled "It Takes a Parent."

The show will be based around the talk-radio program Hart does out of Chicago, and will follow her as she talks to troubled families about problems in their children's lives.

Hart is a single mother of four whose "From the Hart" column takes a slightly sterner approach to parenting than some other features.

She has been syndicated by the United Media-marketed SHNS since 1994.

Hart is also the author of "It Takes a Parent: How the Culture of Pushover Parenting is Hurting Our Kids" (Putnam/2005).
