'Register Citizen' in Torrington, Conn., Appoints Editor

By: E&P Staff Mary Dempsey has been promoted to editor of The Register Citizen of Torrington, Conn. She has served as city editor since August.

Prior to joining the Register Citizen, Dempsey was managing editor of the Independent, a weekly based in Monmouth County, N.J.

She succeeds Matt DeRienzo, who has been named director of news for daily newspapers under 15,000 circulation and 337 non-daily publications published by Journal Register Co.
