Reinaudo to Succeed Cornu as Agfa CEO

Posted
By: E&P Staff Agfa-Gevaert directors yesterday accepted Jo Cornu's resignation as CEO, effective after the Aptil 27 annual general meeting of shareholders. The board of directors nominated Christian Reinaudo as his successor and will propose his name to the general meeting. It also will propose the reelection of Cornu as a board member.

Having "taken the position of CEO on December 1, 2007 under very difficult circumstances, [Cornu] led Agfa-Gevaert through the economic crisis and has put the company back on track. Agfa-Gevaert now has a strong management team, a clear strategy, a better cost structure and a significantly lower level of debt," Chairman Julien De Wilde said in a statement.

President of Agfa HealthCare for the past two years, Reinaudo, 55, will retain that position. Before joining Agfa-Gevaert, he was with the Alcatel Group, as president of its Optics Business Group, president of Alcatel in Asia Pacific and president of Alcatel for Northern and Eastern Europe. Reinaudo started his career with Alcatel in the research and development Centre of Marcoussis, France. At Alcatel he managed several multibillion-Euro businesses and international sales and services organizations.

A graduate of the Paris School of Industrial Physics and Chemistry, Reinaudo holds a doctorate from the University of Paris.
