By: E&P Staff Another newspaper supplement has entered the mix. Relish, a food oriented magazine from Publishing Group of America, debuted today in more than 300 newspapers including The Los Angeles Daily News and The Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Relish is primarily distributed once a month on Wednesdays, the day that many newspapers run food sections.
"Relish will be the biggest magazine launch of 2006," Dick Porter, CEO of Publishing Group of America, said in a statement. "It demonstrates that the medium of print continues to be vital; it just needs a little innovation."
Circulation for Relish is 6.7 million, according to PGA.
The magazine, which carries recipes and tips about cooking, also has a
Web component. Jill Melton, editor of Relish, previously directed food and nutrition coverage for Cooking Light for 13 years. Tracey Altman is the magazine's group vice president and group publisher.
Advertisers in the launch issue include Campbell Soup, Weight Watchers, and Lipton.
Publishing Group of America, based in Franklin, Tenn., also publishes American Profile, a five-year-old weekly newspaper supplement distributed in more than 1,200 papers.
