Rice Steps Down as SVP/Operations for Journal Register Co. in Michigan

By: E&P Staff Thomas E. Rice, senior vice president of operations for Journal Register?s Michigan cluster resigned. He will continue to serve as president and CEO of Journal Register Supply, the company?s central purchasing subsidiary.

?Tom Rice has been an integral part of Journal Register Co. and its predecessor since 1988,? said Robert Jelenic, chairman and CEO of Journal Register, in a statement. ?I would like to thank him for his outstanding service to the company and I?m pleased that Tom will continue to contribute to the company in his role as president and CEO of Journal Register Supply.?

Scott A. Wright will succeed Rice as senior vice president of operations. Most recently, Wright was president and publisher of Suburban Community Newspapers in Memphis, Tenn. He also served as vice president and general manager at the Oakland Press in Pontiac, Mich.
