'Roanoke (Va.) Times' Names New M.E.

By: E&P Staff Michael Stowe has been named managing editor of The Roanoke (Va.) Times. Stowe, 37, is promoted from assistant managing editor.

The position has been open since May, when former managing editor Carole Tarrant succeeded the departing Mike Riley as editor. Riley left the Times earlier this year to become editor and senior vice president of Congressional Quarterly in Washington.
